About me
Krysten Schuler is a wildlife disease ecologist and director of the Cornell Wildlife Health Lab. She works closely with state wildlife agencies, particularly the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to deliver the New York State Wildlife Health Program. She also leads the Surveillance Optimization Project for Chronic Wasting Disease (SOP4CWD), a multi-agency effort to improve surveillance efficiency and effectiveness through free software designed for better data management, information sharing across jurisdictions, and decision-support tools for use by deer managers. In addition to CWD, Krysten has conducted research on health threats posed by lead ammunition in birds and mammals and parasite issues in moose. When not dealing with her email inbox, she enjoys time outside with her family and horses.
